For this project, Manman, meaning mother in creole, I decided to create a lookbook inspired by my mother’s ethnic clothing using my mother as the subject. These images show the youthfulness of older women, as well as the relationship between photographer and subject. I chose to use my mother as the subject of this project because I want to portray her talents as a seamstress, her fashion sense, and also emphasize the unique fabrics and colors of where our culture is rooted from.
